Upcoming Gatekeeper training Oct. 25

Sherwood Advocating for Older Adults
Collaborating for an age friendly Sherwood to improve the quality of life for older adults

Gatekeeper Program Presentation
Join us as we hear from Washington County Sheriff’s Department on how we can help keep older adults safe in Sherwood.

The Gatekeeper Program enables the local community to identify its own people in need of help. The program is designed to assist vulnerable adults who need help, but do not know how to access it. Each year, the vulnerable population grows and in fact, people 65 and over make up the fastest-growing segment of our population.

Together we can learn how to identify danger signals such as a change in appearance or behavior, signs of confusion or disability and make a phone call making it possible for the person in need to receive assistance and choices.
