To promote American Heart Month, Providence Newberg Medical Center, along with Providence Heart and Vascular Institute, is offering a free heart healthy forum and the opportunity to receive a free book by Providence cardiologist James Beckerman, M.D.
February is American Heart Month, and Providence can help you stand up to heart disease. Join “Heart to Start” author and Providence Heart and Vascular cardiologist, James Beckerman, M.D., for a free talk about creating a roadmap to better fitness and health. Dr. Beckerman combines motivation with modern medicine to encourage you to fill your own exercise prescription for heart health. Dr. Beckerman's new book, Heart to Start: The Eight-Week Exercise Prescription to Live Longer, Beat Heart Disease, and Run Your Best Race, will be given to everyone who attends the forum. For the past three years, Dr. Beckerman has led a couch-to-5K training program in Portland, and is excited to bring Heart to Start to Newberg next month with cardiologist Dr. Lian Shaw. Join us for some inspiration and get started on the road to a healthier lifestyle.
