Pigmentation changes

Also known as: Melasma, Vitiligo

Changes in skin pigmentation can make the skin darker or lighter. In the case of melasma, dark brown patches appear on the cheeks, forehead, nose or upper lip. With the skin condition vitiligo, white patches can appear on the face, hands, elbows, knees and feet. Talk with a Providence dermatologist if you are concerned about pigmentation changes.
